the durag’s existence as a utilitarian marker of Blackness. It loosely parallels the head wraps worn by women in slaver-era America.
coveralls pay homage to the “Jim Crow traveling kit.” It consisted of a pair of soiled overalls purchased from an auto mechanic, a miniature gasoline stove, and a small tabletop stove.

At Black Earth United our mission is to reclaim the narritive around Black folks and our connection to the outdoors though storytelling and clothing.
We are a Outdoor brand rooted in comunity centered design, we reach back into time and across oceans to show that the outdoors was, and is a form of Self-liberation As a brand we embody communalism, An interconnectedness between a person, nature, and others. And we honer stillness, ritual, quiet, & breath in the design process.
